Eracle

Eracle o Ercole uno dei più famosi semidei, nato dall’unione di Zeus ( Giove ) con Alcmena, è qui rappresentato con riferimento alla Famosa statua Ercole e Lica realizzata da Antonio Canova tra il 1795 e il 1815, e oggi conservato alla Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna di Roma.

In questo dipinto la scelta dei colori contrastanti e fortemente accesi ci fa quasi pensare ai grafiti e ci ricorda opere del genere della street art.

Heracles, or Hercules: one of the most famous Demigods born from the union of Zeus (Jupiter) with Alcmena, is represented here with reference to the famous statue, Hercules and Lica, made by Antonio Canova between 1795 and 1815, and today preserved in the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome.

A deliberate choice of contrasting bold, bright colours in this painting recalls graphites and street art style imagery.
